The  AAUW North Tahoe branch was formed in 1973 and combined women from California and Nevada.  Ten years later, to better serve the interests of members and accommodate transportation concerns with snow or traffic congestion,  the branch split into the North Tahoe and Incline Village (AAUW Tahoe Nevada) branches.  Several of our members maintain dual membership in these organizations as well as other nearby AAUW branches, including South Lake Tahoe, Truckee, and  Reno.
